FINOWL / EMAIL VALIDATION

An email address. A clear verdict.

Check the syntax, the domain and its mail servers in one request. Catch typos, disposable domains and addresses that cannot receive mail, without ever contacting the mailbox.

Isometric email address card connected to a validation block and a verdict.

HOW IT WORKS

One address in.
A verdict out.

A single request returns what your form or pipeline needs to decide what happens next.
STEP / 01

Send an address

Post a single email address to the Email Validation endpoint, authenticated with your API key.

STEP / 02

Check syntax and DNS

Finowl checks the syntax, confirms the domain exists and reads its mail servers. It never contacts the mailbox.

STEP / 03

Get a verdict

Receive valid, risky or invalid with a reason, plus disposable, role and typo signals for your workflow.

SEE IT IN ACTION

WHERE IT FITS

Fewer bounces,
from the first field.

  • Signup forms

Catch a mistyped domain while the person is still on the page, and offer the suggested correction.

  • List hygiene

Check imported lists before a campaign, so addresses without a mail server never reach your sending tool.

  • Lead quality

Flag disposable domains, role mailboxes and free providers when you score and route new leads.

A valid verdict means the domain can receive mail. It does not confirm that a particular mailbox exists or that someone reads it.

THE RESPONSE

Clear fields. Honest limits.

Every response carries a verdict, the reason behind it, and the DNS details that led there.

Use the extra signals to shape your own rules. A role or free-provider address can still be exactly the contact you want.

verdict
valid, risky or invalid. Branch on this field.
reason
Why, most important first: accepted, invalid_syntax, domain_not_found, null_mx, no_mail_server, disposable or a_record_fallback.
mx_records
The domain's mail servers in preference order, with the recognized mail_provider, such as google or microsoft.
disposable, role, free_provider
Whether the domain is a known disposable service, the mailbox is a role address like support@, or the domain is a free email provider.
did_you_mean
A suggested correction for a likely typo of a popular domain, such as gmial.com, or null.
